About this position:
The LAN Technical Supervisor is responsible for leading the implementation, support, and ongoing maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN) hardware, software, and enterprise IT infrastructure. This role oversees account creation and maintenance, supervises network operations, and partners closely with technical teams, leadership, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and evaluate emerging technologies. The position also ensures compliance with departmental, corporate, and regulatory standards while supporting efficient issue resolution through clear documentation and collaboration with Technical Support teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support LAN infrastructure operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Implement and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure solutions.
- Train and mentor junior network support staff.
- Manage Microsoft server environments, SCCM, Azure/Intune, and Active Directory.
- Oversee secure application account management and system audits.
- Lead IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and outage management.
- Monitor system performance and recommend infrastructure improvements.
- Evaluate vendors, hardware, and software solutions.
- Develop network integration and security enhancement plans.
- Collaborate with management, technical teams, and vendors on technology initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation, processes, and reporting.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field plus two (2) years of senior-level desktop support and network environment leadership experience;
OR - Associate’s degree in a related technical field plus four (4) years of senior-level desktop support and LAN environment leadership experience;
OR - Minimum of four (4) years of LAN support experience or a current industry certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+) plus two (2) or more years of enterprise-level LAN support experience.
Certifications
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) preferred.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications strongly desired.
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting server-based hardware and applications.
- Experience leading large-scale IT projects and deploying enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple technologies.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality technical support and project outcomes.
