The Analyst I reports into the Manager, Business Intelligence for the Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS) Supply Chain Analytics team. This position is part of an Analytics team that is flexibly deployed to support strategic supply chain initiatives. The analysts are cross-trained and can contribute to these strategic initiatives through a range of activities, including but not limited to, data analytics, financial analysis, capital analysis, performance and operations metrics, contract review and analysis, and project management and implementation.
The Analyst I will play a critical role in enabling and interpreting data-driven analytics to support corporate, hospital, warehouse, and community/ ambulatory clinical supply chain decisions and operational improvements. The analyst will work across Supply Chain and collaborate with sourcing, value analysis, procurement, inventory management, and other hospital network stakeholders as required to support ongoing operations and transformational initiatives.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of analytical approaches for answering business questions
Understanding of analytics toolsets and architecture (e.g., relational databases, data mining, data extraction-transformation-loading, visualization)
Understanding of supply chain operations in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other supply chain systems and processes (e.g., inventory, procurement, warehouse management) preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail to produce accurate reports and analysis
Ability to develop and deliver communications to support supply chain and analytics initiatives (e.g., explaining complex concepts in clear terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders)
Data modelling
Data visualization leveraging Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience in using the platform in an academic or professional setting
Experience querying SQL databases in an academic or professional setting (T-SQL, Postgres, MySQL, PL/SQL, etc.)
Operational experience with ERP systems (SAP, Workday, Oracle, or similar)
SAP and working with SAP data / tables preferred but not required
Familiarity with programming languages commonly used for analytics (Python, R, etc.) preferred
Education:
A relevant bachelor’s degree is required (e.g., computer science, informatics, management of information systems, data science, business, supply chain, engineering). A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Work Experience:
Three months related experience is required. Experience in a supply chain, healthcare or analytics environment is preferred.
Salary Range: Minimum 31.53/hour - Maximum 52.06/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
