General Position Summary: This role supports a number of key initiatives within Health IT, with an emphasis on REACH. The Johns Hopkins inHealth Research Enclave for Analyzing Clinical Health Data (REACH) is a de-identified data resource that enables scientific discovery and advances healthcare by developing a de-identified version of Johns Hopkins’ electronic medical records (EMR) data. REACH offers a secure, transparent, and efficient process that safeguards patient privacy, reduces administrative burden, and removes access barriers for authorized users.

List required & preferred skills specific to position:

  • 2 or more years of relevant experience working with stakeholders and defining requirements in a relevant context
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience working with healthcare data formats (e.g. Epic Clarity & Caboodle, FHIR, OMOP)
  • Proficiency in Scala
  • Experience with data frameworks and cloud platforms

Job Scope/Complexity: Typically understands project life cycle and has responsibility for sections of life cycle. Under guidance, responsible for full life-cycle of small and/or parts of a large project. Once priorities are set, perform tasks independently with regular process updates. Examples can easily be found in existing code, methods or online. Typically concepts used are simple and standard.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Additional experience may be substituted for education.

Equivalency Formula: JHH: Related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years experience-for-one year education basis.

Required Experience: One year of related work experience with computer systems and applications. Additional education may substitute for experience.

Equivalency Formula: JHU: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits = 1 year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college coursework may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Preferred Job Qualifications: Knowledge in the assigned application as well as the platform on which it runs.

Salary Range: Minimum 24.80/hour - Maximum 43.40/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
