Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD -Surgical Pathology Lab
Full Time/Day Shfit: Friday-Tuesday- 7am-3:30pm
Position Summary: This role focuses primarily on scanning histology slides using advanced digital pathology systems to support clinical operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable with computer-based systems, highly detail‑oriented, and capable of maintaining accuracy in a high‑throughput environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate digital slide scanners to convert glass slides into high-resolution digital images.
- Perform quality checks on scanned images to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Organize and upload scanned slides into the digital pathology platform.
- Maintain proper documentation of scanned cases and workflows.
- Assist with troubleshooting scanner issues and coordinating maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with histology staff to meet laboratory needs.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent including high school level coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
Work Experience:
- No experience required (some experience, preferably lab experience is helpful). Computer and data entry, retrieval and/or review skills are required.
- Basic understanding of histology and microscopy is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Comfortable working with computers and imaging software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- No certification required

Salary Range: Minimum 18.09/hour - Maximum 29.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
