Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30a-4pm.
About Our Unit
· NEW! Pediatric Sedation Service Patient Care Technician
· Care for an average of 6-10 patients per day
· Serve patients of all ages, from newborns through young adults (up to 25 years old)
· Support all pediatric surgical and procedural services, including Radiology
· Care for both ambulatory sedation procedural patients and patients who may be admitted to the Children’s Center or coming from our Pediatric ER
· Provide care to our patient during procedural sedation
PCT Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
· Admitting patients, including vital signs, oxygen setup, assessments, intake & output, and IV placement/removal
· Preparing patients for procedural sedation and assisting with transfer processes
· Transporting monitored patients to and from inpatient units and unmonitored patients to hospital exit
· Assisting with procedures as needed
· Performing point-of-care testing (HCG, blood glucose)
· Turning over sedation room- some cleaning and supply management

Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
· One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered.
Licensure/Certifications:
· Nursing Assistant Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing required.
· Current CPR certification
Salary Range: Minimum 18.41/hour - Maximum 27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
