Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and implementing infection control programs to prevents and manages healthcare-associated infections. Conceptualizes, plans, implements, and coordinates departmental activities across the health system. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, develops infection control policies, and provides education and training to healthcare staff. Oversees risk assessments, leads quality improvement initiatives, and collaborates with various departments to ensure quality infection control practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, implements, and oversees the hospital infection control program to prevent and control infections.
  • Develops infection control policies and procedures, ensures policies are communicated and adhered to by all staff members.
  • Conducts ongoing surveillance of hospital-acquired infections and reports findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Leads risk assessments to identifies potential infection hazards and implements mitigation strategies.
  • Manages resources, includes personnel, equipment, and supplies, to supports infection control efforts.
  • Implements and oversees the use of technology and data analytics tools to enhance infection control efforts.
  • Provides education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices.
  • Prepares and presents reports on infection rates and prevention activities to hospital leadership.
  • Collaborates with clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure regular infection control practices.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to infection control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in epidemiology, healthcare management, or a related field (Required) and
  • Master's Degree in epidemiology, healthcare management, or a related field (Preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in infection prevention and control (Required) including
  • 3+ years of related management experience (Required)

Salary Range: $155,000 to $186,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
