The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research and Education Building is home to our institutes, grant-funded scientists, innovative graduate medical education programs, cutting-edge Center for Medical Simulation and Innovative Education, and Florida’s only accredited pediatric biorepository.

The 225,000-square-foot building, opened in 2018, is designed to promote collaboration. The Research and Education Building also serves as an educational center for pediatric resident physicians and fellows in programs with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

Position Summary:

Responsible for broad and specific responsibilities for the development and implementation of clinical education or simulation-based educational, patient safety, and assessment activities within the Department of Clinical Education or the Center for Medical Simulation and Innovative Education. Serves as an educator working closely with faculty and staff in the design and implementation of educational, assessment, and patient safety activities. Provides technical and instructional support to lower level educators.

Minimum Qualifications:

RN Advanced Education Specialist

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Current State of Florida RN license required.
  • 5years pediatric clinical or educational experience.
  • Formal training in educational theory, instructional design, or teaching strategies required.
  • Experience evaluating educational outcomes preferred.
  • Previous clinical, research, patient safety, and/or teaching experience required.
  • Experience in designing and implementing educational programs preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a team leader role

Simulation Education Specialist Senior

  • Master’s degree in simulation, education, public health or relevant field (clinical or non-clinical) required.
  • Only candidates with clinical qualifications are required to have registration and/or licensure in related healthcare field (i.e., nursing, respiratory therapy, etc.).
  • 5 years of healthcare simulation, quality/patient safety, education, clinical, or other relevant experience
  • Formal training in educational theory, instructional design, or teaching strategies required.
  • AHA or NRP instructor certification preferred.
  • Experience in designing and implementing simulation activities preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a team leader role.

Salary Range: Minimum 37.07/hour - Maximum 59.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
