POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Administrator acts as an internal management consultant and change agent by designing, directing and managing projects and systems to improve cost effectiveness and operational efficiency in functional units.

Main responsibilities include

• Assists with the development of operating goals and objectives for functional units, including standards of performance for functional unit activities, methods of monitoring and appraising functional unit performance, control systems for operational management and resource control.

• Identifies opportunities for and develops programs to improve services, control expenses, increase volumes and increase profitability.

• Provides support to cross-functional unit committees addressing organizational operating policies and procedures and program planning.

• Provides staff support to functional unit administrator committees and project teams.

• Plans and organizes committee activities, implements committee recommendations.

• Monitors departmental priorities, budgets, staffing, supply usage, and volume variances

• Advances organizational performance by utilizing a systems approach to analyzing processes, building relationships and facilitating change.

• Supports and facilitates organizational efforts for business process improvement, change management, system redesign and integration, and solutions development

COMPETENCIES:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required. Master’s degree in Business, Health Administration or another relevant field is preferred.
  • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

Knowledge:

  • Advanced level of knowledge in spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, diagramming, and project management software is required.
  • Deep understanding of finance, operations, statistical modeling, and industry benchmarking solutions, process improvement and project management is beneficial.
  • Understanding of quality management, customer service theory, planning and administrative theory.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and/or experience in clinical or health operations is preferred.

Skills

Advanced interpersonal communication skills to interface with staff at all levels of the organization.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft office, particularly Excel.

Ability to utilize project management software in Microsoft Project, JIRA and Smartsheet to effectively document and track implementation of performance improvement opportunities

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail to produce accurate reports and analysis

Ability to work well as a member of cross-functional teams

Ability to generate change through influence rather than authority using a proven framework to direct and accelerate organizational transformation

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:

  • None required. Completion or certification of Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Lean, or similar training preferred.

Work Experience

  • Three years of relevant experience required, preferably in health care or project management. Consultant or operations experience strongly desired

Machines, Tools, Equipment:

  • Personal computers, printers, faxes, modems and other hardware/software appropriate to assigned projects.

Salary Range: Minimum 31.53/hour - Maximum 52.06/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
