The Scope Processing Technician III cleans and disinfects, using high-level disinfection, a variety of endoscopes and accessories. Is responsible for maintaining proper function and integrity of all endoscopes and equipment in the processing room. This is an expert role building upon the skills and experience gained from a Scope Technician I and II. Maintains a detailed understanding of endoscopy procedures, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards, including the theoretic basis for operating standards. The scope technician III has a broader scope of responsibilities, including completes tasks such as performing departmental quality assurance audits and documentation into instrument management system, tracking data logs, ordering supplies as needed through supply chain process in place. Coordinates repair of scopes and manages loaners with the vendor and supply chain. Serves as the primary preceptor for all lower-level staff, providing guidance and training to new or existing scope technicians.

Education:

Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Work Experience:

Minimum five (5) years endoscopic instrument processing experience required.

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:

Candidate must hold at least two certifications

Acceptable certifications:

  • Endoscope Reprocessing: CER through HSPA or CFER through CBSPD
  • Sterile Processing: CRCST through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD

Shift:

Rotating Shift (11 am - 7:30 pm )

Salary Range: Minimum 23.54/hour - Maximum 38.54/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
