Become part of our Neurosurgery team providing exceptional inpatient care to adult patients with complex neurological conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside neurosurgeons, residents, and APP colleagues in a collaborative academic medical center environment.

The Neurosurgery APP team manages patients on the inpatient floors and Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), caring for a diverse patient population including spine disease, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, cerebrovascular disease, neurotrauma, and functional/stereotactic neurosurgery.

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Three 13-hour day shifts (approximately 5:30 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • Longer shifts support continuity of care and minimize patient handoffs

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage adult neurosurgical patients in the inpatient setting
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists
  • Participate in quality improvement, education, and APP student precepting

Qualifications:

  • PA-C: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current Maryland PA licensure, CDS, and DEA certification
  • ACNP: Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program with current Maryland NP licensure, CDS, and DEA certification
  • Certifications Required: BLS & ACLS (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
  • Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment for Medicare ordering purposes
  • Must be fully credentialed by The Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Board before starting

Salary Range: Minimum 58.03/hour - Maximum 89.94/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
