Zone Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for completion of maintenance projects and working with other mechanics for problem solving issues. Duties require a knowledgeable level of mechanical skills to keep the buildings and support equipment in good repair and ensure a maximum level of the environment of care. Work requires internal contacts outside the work group to resolve mutual problems and to collaborate on work procedures, responsible for ensuring that satisfaction and service with internal contacts is maintained. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information.

Hours: Full time (40 hours), Day Shift, Weekdays

Location: Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, MD 21044

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma is required.
• Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in the construction trade or industrial/institutional maintenance is required.
• Requires journeyman level of proficiency in inducting normal repair and maintenance duties, to include and to perform, preventive maintenance and provide documentation for all phases of work.

Salary Range: Minimum 20.52/hour - Maximum 33.88/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
