Weekly Working Hours: 36-hours/week full-time

Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts w/six weeks' self scheduling

The Medical Progressive Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 21-bed high acuity step-down unit, caring for critically ill adult medical patients. Patient population includes those with complex organ disease, requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, and continuous monitoring. Common medical diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, liver failure, and DKA. This is a highly skilled floor, from which new staff will gain instrumental experience. Nurse to patient ratios are 3:1. There is opportunity for growth on the MPCU, regardless of where you are in your career!


Qualifications:

  • 6 months Med/Tele RN experience required - 1 year preferred
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required at time of hire
  • BLS CPR required
  • Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
  • BSN (preferred) and applicants w/an ADN in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a BSN program.
