This is a full time remote role. Applicants residing in MD, VA, DC, PA, DE and FL will be given first consideration.

Must have experience with authorizations in a hospital setting- Surgical, Labor and Delivery, hospital transfers, etc.

Job Summary:

Supervises the daily operations of the financial clearance processes, ensuring efficient workflow management and adherence to policies. Monitors staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service. Coordinates with various teams to validate insurance verification, obtain prior authorizations.

Job Functions:

  • Supervises the financial clearance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of insurance verifications and authorizations.
  • Coordinates with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any issues related to patient coverage and eligibility.
  • Implements departmental policies and procedures to streamline financial clearance processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors the accuracy of financial clearance data to validate insurance payer requirements for prior authorization and/or submit relevant clinical documentation to secure financial clearance.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and training to staff to maintain performance and engagement
  • Develops and maintains effective communication channels with clinical departments, physicians, operational leaders, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Follows organizational override policy for patients lacking financial clearance.
  • Responsible for employment activities including hiring, firing, corrective action, training, monitoring and conducting performance reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in healthcare administration or a related field (Required)
  • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle or patient account management (Required)
  • Navigate rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Work seamlessly within diverse teams, bringing together professionals from various disciplines to provide patient-centered care and achieve collective goals.
  • Addresses problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, general knowledge, and skills based on general precedents.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the reasons and rationale behind established policies and procedures in Pre-Service Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Salary Range: Minimum 27.46/hour - Maximum 48.06/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
