Location: Remote

Our organization is registered for remote work in the following states: MD, VA, DC, FL, PA, and DE.  To be considered for a remote position, relocation is required to one of the registered states if not currently residing in one.

Job Summary:

Performs billing, follow-up, and collection activities to secure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered. Investigates and resolves payer issues, denials, and account discrepancies while ensuring accurate claim processing and timely payment. Works assigned accounts across multiple payers and supports resolution of moderately complex billing and follow-up issues in accordance with revenue cycle policies and procedures. 

Functions:

• Performs billing and follow-up activities to ensure accurate and timely resolution of assigned accounts.  
• Contacts third-party payers to investigate claim status, resolve denials or rejections, and secure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered.  
• Reviews and analyzes patient accounts to identify billing discrepancies, claim errors, payment delays, or denial issues.  
• Supports collection practices including benefits eligibility verification, authorization review, and payer requirements as needed to facilitate claim resolution.  
• Communicates with patients and payers to explain billing issues, clarify account balances, and assist with payment resolution.  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent  (Required) 
• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, patient accounts, or revenue cycle management (Required)   
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.  
• Strong attention to detail and self-directed to consistently ensure data integrity and accuracy.  
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).  
• Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload.
• Ability to identify process issues and recommend improvements.

Salary Range: Minimum $18.87/hour - Maximum $31.15/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
