Public Safety Officer I

Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
Position Summary
The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. This role provides exceptional customer service while enforcing organizational policies and responding to safety and security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of facilities and grounds
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency incidents
- Monitor surveillance systems and access control points
- De-escalate situations using sound judgment and professionalism
- Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
- Assist patients, visitors, and staff with directions and general inquiries
- Enforce organizational policies and procedures
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record required
- Minimum of one (1) year of security, public safety, military, or related experience required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare security experience
- CPR/AED certification
- Crisis Prevention or de-escalation training

Salary Range: Minimum $17.78/hour - Maximum $28.50/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
