Electronics Security Technician I

JOB SUMMARY:

Electronic Security Technician I, entry level technical position responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and support of electronic security systems across the Johns Hopkins enterprise. These systems include access control devices, CCTV cameras, NVRs/VMS, intercoms, panic alarm systems, and low voltage cabling that support Public Safety.The Technician I performs routine field tasks, assists with system deployments, resolves basic hardware issues, and supports preventive maintenance efforts. More advanced programming, networking, or enterprise level diagnostics are escalated to senior or lead technicians. This role is ideal for individuals beginning a career in low voltage systems, electronics, or security technology and offers strong opportunities for skill development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Required)
• Less Than 2 Years of Experience in electornic security, low voltage cabling, IT support, or a related field;or equivalent technical traning through trade school, military service, or certifications (Required)
• Drivers License 10000193 Upon Hire (Required)
• Low voltage/security technician license if required by state/local regulations Upon Hire (Required)
• Navigate rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Completes basic to moderately complex business support assignments; work involves minimal problem resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and self-directed to consistently ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Uphold ethical principles by maintaining confidentiality, ensuring informed consent, and making decisions that prioritize the well-being of both patients and staff.
• Work seamlessly within diverse teams, bringing together professionals from various disciplines to provide patient-centered care and achieve collective goals.
• Ensures the implementation of company policies in their daily tasks, identifies potential risks in their scope of work, and reports any breakdown in controls to the supervisor.
• Makes decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices, requiring some interpretation.
• Solves basic to moderately complex administrative and operational challenges.
• Proficient knowledge; performs standardized, assigned duties and tasks in Information Technology.
• Performs work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Salary Range: Minimum $27.51/hour - Maximum $48.14/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
