Public Safety Officer I

Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)

Position Summary

The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. This role provides exceptional customer service while enforcing organizational policies and responding to safety and security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of facilities and grounds
• Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency incidents
• Monitor surveillance systems and access control points
• De-escalate situations using sound judgment and professionalism
• Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
• Assist patients, visitors, and staff with directions and general inquiries
• Enforce organizational policies and procedures
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record required
• Minimum of one (1) year of security, public safety, military, or related experience required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare security experience
• CPR/AED certification
• Crisis Prevention or de-escalation training

Salary Range: Minimum 17.70/hour - Maximum 28.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
