Position Summary:

Reports to Lead Laboratory Technician, Technologist-in-charge or Operations Manager. Primary role is to performs phlebotomy (pediatric and adult), performs EKG’s, records and reports results; maintains established levels of supplies and inventory. Responsible for initiating or verifying that proper actions are taken to resolve problems. Maintains high level of competency for all skills and knowledge required. Secondary responsibility is to perform Sweat Chloride Testing and process specimens

Knowledge:

General understanding of anatomy as it relates to phlebotomy.

Skills:

Ability to read, write and follow written procedures required in laboratory assignments. Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective technical information exchange with varied groups. Ability to prioritize work in order to handle both STAT and routine specimens. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail under stressful circumstances. Consistently perform work at a high level, verifying that all patient demographic data is correct and that subsequent procedures are performed accurately and safely. Must contribute to presenting a professional appearance to customers and coworkers.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent including high school level course work in biology, chemistry and mathematics. AA, Biology preferred.

Work Experience:

Requires a minimum of at least 100 blood draws as normally acquired through completion of an approved phlebotomy program. Must be deemed competent and safe by the Clinical Safety and Training Coordinator in all relevant Express Testing procedures, which can include testing on a mannequin arm during the interview process.

None

Salary Range: Minimum 18.09/hour - Maximum 29.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
