Patient Care Tech II - PCT - Med/Surg

Full Time - Day Shift, 7a-7:30p

This role requires a valid CNA license for the District of Columbia

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.

The Patient Care Tech is a critical part of the Patient Care Team and works in a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This certified role observes patients, provides basic nursing care (including IV's, blood draws and EKG's), and maintains the patient environment in an outcome-oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as CNA in the District of Columbia.
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • Prior patient care experience preferred.
  • Highschool diploma or GED is required.
