Peer Recovery Coach

Full Time - Evening Shift - 3pm-11:30pm

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.

The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides direct supportive services to patients with a substance use disorder. The PRC shares the lived experience of recovery from substance use disorder. They will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to patients with a substance use disorder in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The PRC works as a member of the interdisciplinary SUDs service. The PRC engages patients in recovery planning, including identifying treatment services and facilitating linkages to treatment. Performs community follow-up to provide continued patient engagement, support and encouragement.

Licensure/Certification:

Certification, registration or licensure not required, but preferred.

Typically, must have a valid driver’s license for the state in which the program operates or effectively uses transportation to travel independently in the program’s service area.

Required Work Experience:

Minimum of one-year experience working with patients with substance use disorders.
