Neonatal NP or PA

Fulltime, Flexible: 10 /16 / 24 hour shifts

Work Location: HCA Trinity Hospital

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant demonstrates expertise in the clinical management of the neonate and infant. The practitioner role is multi-faceted and includes clinical management of the high risk neonate and infant, educational responsibilities, administrative duties, consulting, and initiating/implementing research. The neonatal APRN/PA works in collaboration with medical, nursing and support services to provide family centered care. The neonatal APRN/PA maintains active participation in his/her own continued education and professional development.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The APP provides care to patients that includes accurate assessment, documentation, treatment, and evaluation of care based on national standards and evidence-based guidelines. Aside from providing clinical services, the APP is also involved in patient and family teaching and care coordination to ensure timely recovery and discharge and serves as a consultant to institution and community partner organizations. APRNs and PAs are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. APRNs and PAs contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy. APRNs and PAs assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury under the supervision of a physician. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Florida State Licensure as an NNP or a PA
• Clinical Master's Degree in Nursing or DNP for NNP, or Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
• Current BLS and PALS
• Current National Certification as a: NNP or PA
