Security Communications Specialist

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Security Communications Specialist (SSCS), the Security Communications Specialist (SCS) will be responsible for following established security practices, standard operating procedures and policies. The SCS will answer all incoming calls and radio transmissions, monitor and respond to the intelligent CCTV alarm recognition system, monitor and respond to alarms generated from the card access systems and emergency phone systems. The SCS serves as first point of contact for situations involving on and off-site facilities, medical services, and customer hotlines. The SCS will utilize and maintain electronic surveillance and detention systems through security console operations to include: Security, Fire, Access Control, HVAC and executive support. In addition they will use the Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) System to appropriately dispatch security personnel to calls for assistance. The SCS will utilize the Record Management System (RMS) to document all calls for assistance, service and subsequent communications with JHM staff, security personnel, BPD 911 operators, etc. The SCS will initiate an incident report when a call for assistance requires one and keep an accurate log of events and occurrences.

Education:

Work requires a high school diploma, and successful completion of both entry-level security training and 911 Emergency Response course.

Work Experience:

Work requires demonstrated ability to successfully respond to and resolve emergency situations as well as write routine security reports. The candidate should have demonstrated progressive security experience. Prior 911 Emergency Response training/experience is preferred.

Shift:

Full Time, Day Shift (40 hours)

8:00 am - 4:00 pm
