The Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, MD Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32 bed adult inpatient surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate levels of care for a variety acute cardiac, vascular, and other surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Care and services provided: coronary artery bypass, Heartmate© II or III & Heartware© mechanical circulatory support devices, valve replacement or repairs, Type A & B aortic dissections, fem-pop bypass, scalenectomy, TAVR, heart or lung transplantation. During the week there is an experienced resource nurse available to assist with admissions/discharges, transport monitoring, and emergencies

Shifts: 8, 10, 12 Hour Rotating Shifts; Every Other Weekend

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
• 1 year of acute care (in-hospital) tech experience within the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
