The Patient Clerical Assistant performs clerical and receptionist duties for the unit. Job duties affect patient care through the completion of tasks which permit others to provide direct patient care. Work requires communication outside of the work group and external contacts require providing or obtaining factual information.

Work Location: Columbia, MD

Part-time Nights - 36 hours per week (eligible for full time benefits)

7pm-7am, must be able to work every 3rd weekend (Friday/Saturday night).

Education/Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalency required.
2. Associates degree preferred.
3. One (1) year demonstrated experience interacting with the public.

Knowledge/Skills:

1. Strong interpersonal skills including sensitivity, maturity, and tact necessary to communicate effectively with patients, family members and co-workers, and the ability to work efficiently with episodic interruptions in work flow.
2. Ability to problem solve, anticipate needs and take initiative are required.
3. Ability to use a computer (Epic, SAP, Transquest, and HillRom), following clear instructions and procedures for looking up relevant data and sending and receiving emails.
4. Must be able to pass all hospital competencies required for the position.
