The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Oncology Unit is a 36-bed acute care unit for adult surgical oncology patients on Weinberg 4 C/D. These patients include those who have undergone GI, Head and Neck, and General surgery. This is an acute care level floor, however the patients require specialized nursing care, assessments, and education. Working on Weinberg 4CD will provide you with an opportunity to learn new skills such as tracheostomy management, develop time-management, and be a part of a family-oriented multidisciplinary team.

Registered Nurse 2 - Premier Per Diem - Surgical Oncology (Weinberg 4 C/D). This position is Per Diem, night shift, 12 hours per week, with weekends. 24 hours every 6 weeks required.

Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required. AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
  • The ideal candidate will possess at least one year of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse and is proficient in Registered Nurse 1 competencies.

  • Work with an amazing team on the Surgical Oncology Unit.
  • Join Unit-based committees.
  • Precept new grad nurses while they are working through their residency.
  • Attend in-service training and continuing education programs.
