Patient Care Tech - ED Greeter Tech

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department.

The Emergency Dept Greeter tech in our 22-bed Emergency Room is a critical part of multidisciplinary Patient Care Team. The ED Greeter tech will work at the direction of the Triage / Charge Nurse to meet with and monitor Patients in the ED Waiting area. Along with excellent clinical skills the successful candidate needs to be organized, possess strong communication skills, have the confidence to deescalate difficult situations all while maintaining consistent communication with patients and families in the waiting area.

Qualifications:

• Current CNA license for the District of Columbia, or a EMT certification, or a Paramedic certification.
• American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.
• Highschool diploma or GED is required.
