Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our General Surgery Department at Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical procedures, patient assessment, and post-operative care. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons in performing surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparation, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative care.
• Conduct patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
• Provide patient education and counseling on surgical procedures, treatment plans, and post-operative care instructions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to hospital policies and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Maryland.
• Previous experience in general surgery or a related surgical specialty preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
