Location:

Johns Hopkins Hospital, Balitmore, MD-Chemistry Lab

Shift:

Casual PRN (8 hours)

Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Weekends Only

Position Summary:

  • Reports to a Lead/Supervisor or Manager. Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures. These require a professional level of knowledge to properly execute and analyze results, especially where results are abnormal or atypical.
  • Specific duties may vary according to laboratory and shift assigned (i.e duties similar to a Clinical Lab Scientist I/II or Cytogenetics Tech, or Cytopathology Tech, or Histo Tech II. Individual works at a flat rate, on call or PRN status. Not merit eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Work requires some coursework in clinical laboratory science, biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, cytopathology, cytogenetics, and/or microbiology normally acquired through completion of post-secondary school program in Histotechnology, MLT, MT or clinical laboratory technology and/or equivalent education and training in one of the noted disciplines or related field.
  • 5 or more years of direct laboratory experience may substitute for completed secondary education.

Required Work Experience:

  • This PRN role is intended for experienced laboratory professionals with a minimum of 2 years experience in related laboratory environment.
