  • The Patient Service Coordinator will offer friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure that the patient has a positive experience in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Maintain accurate information on each patient to facilitate the patient encounter
  • Use automated systems to expedite patient scheduling, pre-registration, check-in, and check-out
  • Work with others in a team environment
  • The position will require occasional evening hours

Work Location: Columbia, MD

Casual as needed - Days/Evenings – the hours of our clinic are 7am-8pm. Must be available to cover as needed based on the need of the department.

Education:

  • Diploma/Certificate/GED required

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of related experience in healthcare setting required or two (2) years customer service experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Displays responsible behaviors and communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members in order to foster optimal quality of outpatient care.
  • Demonstrates competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills as they relate to patient care activities.
  • Must be able to collect, verify and organize data with high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Minimum keyboarding requirement of 30 wpm strongly preferred.
