The Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist (IOM), monitors all modalities (SSEPs, tcMEPs, BAERs, EMG, EEG etc.) for neurosurgical, vascular, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic spine and interventional radiology procedures. The procedures monitored include, but not limited to: cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery, intracranial tumor, cerebral aneurysm surgery, spine surgeries, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery and peripheral nerve surgeries. The technologist provides adequate monitoring with proficiency in troubleshooting technical problems, and keeps the surgeons and IOM physicians informed of any significant changes. The technologist will also perform diagnostic EPs when needed. This position requires high level of interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with physicians, office staff, and other technical personnel. The technologist will also perform duties outside of direct neuromonitoring including sterilization of electrodes and ordering supplies.

Shift:

Full-time, Rotating

7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

On Call

Education:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline related to the biological sciences. Education to include course work in anatomy and physiology and preferably experience in neurophysiology and anatomy.

Required Licensure/Certification:

ABRET-CNIM liscensure

Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required.

Work Experience:

Minimum of one year of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring expereince required
