Specific: This position will be training physicians and other providers on EPIC.

POSITION SUMMARY: Credentialed trainers use the curriculum, lessons, and training materials created by the Instructional Designers to conduct Epic training for end users. Credentialed Trainers work collaboratively with other members of the project and training team to assist in developing and maintaining the training program. Credentialed trainers will train to Epic applications specific to either a clinical or financial focus. This individual is credentialed in a selected Epic application(s) and is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Gaining knowledge of Johns Hopkins workflows and adult education principles
  2. Understanding and interpreting clinical and non-clinical workflows, processes, and terminology in order to translate information into educationally sound training content
  3. Maintaining policy and procedure documentation related to training
  4. Training end users in the classroom
  5. Administering end user proficiency assessments
  6. Communicating training environment issues or curriculum updates to the principle trainers
  7. Providing onsite go-live support
  8. Reviewing new application enhancements/upgrades and assisting in development of implementation plans
  9. Monitoring quality and regulation changes to identify and remediate training processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Baccalaureate degree in an allied health field. Professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years’ experience for one-year education basis.
  • Relevant Experience: Three years’ experience using clinical information systems in a health care environment. Additional experience in adult education/training is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Required to complete and pass credentialing in an assigned EPIC application module at the completion of the Credentialed Trainer program.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations is required.
  • Other Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with proficiency in Learning Management Systems. Understanding of technical instructional design techniques for instructor-led and individual on-the-job learning and related software applications.
  • Computer literacy and customer service skills. Exemplary facilitation skills in public speaking and presenting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the user community. Day, middle or night shift with rotation and varying hours based on the needs of the department.
