Sightline is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Management Leader to join our team and play a leadership role in optimizing core business processes across the enterprise. The Project Manager IV will lead and oversee several interconnected Business Modernization work streams (spanning human capital, procurement, finance, and operations). The PM IV will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to help design and optimize core institutional business processes. This individual will be responsible for ensuring interconnectedness of projects, and teams, to deliver on the core principles organizational imperatives of the Sightline Project. The project manager IV will need to be well-versed in project management, process improvement, and leading other project management resources and stakeholders.

The PM IV will be an integral member of the Sightline Business Modernization and Transformation Leadership Team (which collaborates and spans across both the university and health system). This position will report to, and serve as a Strategic Advisor to, the JHHS VP of Strategic Initiatives (responsible for overseeing JHHS Sightline Business Transformations). This individual will participate in project level strategic planning and tactical execution of transformation initiatives and will oversee the coordination and direct management of performance improvement specialist working on the Sightline Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and delight the customer.
  • Responsible for coordinating project plans, team and work assignments, guiding, and monitoring work efforts daily, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
  • Facilitate information exchange between senior management and departments, Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) entities, vendors/consultants and outside agencies.

Special Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of project management, financial analysis, and business/strategic planning is required.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management, Planning and Administrative theory, and Customer Service Theory is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience related to project management and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • The ability to use and train others on PMIS.
  • High level of interpersonal skill, written and oral communication necessary to interface with various levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and meet scheduled timeframes; manage multiple projects simultaneously; and prepare oral and/or written presentations to senior management.
  • Ability to compile and coordinate high quality reports, proposals and written work product for customers.
  • Must have high level of spreadsheet, database, presentation, and project scheduling and word processing software skills.
  • High level of meeting management, computer, teaching and training, organization and time management, High level of leadership/facilitation skills.
  • High level of analytical ability necessary to identify and illustrate relationships among activities, recommend courses of action based on making choices among alternative and design recommended.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business in Health Administration, Project Management or related degree is required
  • Master’s Degree is preferred.

Professional Certification

  • Professional (PMP) or equivalent project/program management certification required.

Experience

  • 7 years of experience managing projects that must include:
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience implementing large, complex projects
    • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working on project(s) involving project life cycle methodologies
    • Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing project budgets
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing large programs with multiple project work streams
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience leading project teams.
