Receptionist Position Summary:

The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and appropriately directing patients/visitors/guests while treating medical center staff, visitors, physicians, patients and families in a professional and courteous manner. Consistently displays a positive attitude in the work environment and conducts self in a calm, professional manner during stressful situations.

Receptionist Key Accountabilities:

  • Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person’s visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location.
  • Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.
  • Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
  • Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
  • Performs basic filing and recordkeeping.
  • Performs other duties.

Work Schedule: FT, Day shift, 40 hrs/wk

Work Location: Baltimore, MD

Receptionist Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 0-2 years of experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with Hospital administration, staff, patients and families, as well as to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to plan, organize, complete and manage programs in the most efficient manner
