This is a remote role, must be able to come to the Hanover, MD office for required meetings. Applicants must live and work from one of these states- MD, DC, PA, VA, DE and FL.
This position is responsible for managing the MCIC Insurance Company as it relates to the implementation and maintenance of MCIC Professional Liability (PL) Insurance for the Johns Hopkins Health System/Johns Hopkins Medicine. Performs analysis, interpretation and refinement of JHHS-MCIC PL insurance underwriting & eligibility standards. Works closely with MCIC to coordinate and apply U & E standards for the JHHS/Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Work Experience: Three to five years related experience in an insurance office or related business field. Understanding of underwriting & eligibility standards within the National/International Professional Liability insurance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of JHHS/JH Medicine credentialing policy and procedures and the interconnection to professional liability coverage via both an institution-based plan and the venue of commercial carriers. Knowledgeable about the relationship between risk management and professional liability coverage within the healthcare industry and within the JHHS/JH Medicine. A strong understanding of PL Coverage needs as required by hospital-based providers, health system facilities and entity structures, and private practice providers. Understanding of account management, inclusive of billing and invoicing procedures.
Skills:
Salary Range: Minimum 33.90 per hour - Maximum 55.98 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
