Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures. 

Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation and packaging of medications, distribution and delivery of medications, maintenance of proper inventory levels of medications, and maintenance of appropriate records and documentation under the supervision of the pharmacist. Contributes to the goals of the department by assisting the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for dispensing at a demonstrated level of safe practice as defined by the Florida State Board of Pharmacy and JHACH policy. Along with other members of the Pharmacy, is responsible for providing medications to meet high standards of patient care provided by JHACH.

Qualifications:

  • Education
  • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.

  • Licensure
    • Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Requires knowledge of pharmacy work routines, procedures, materials, terminology, and medication names.
    • Requires skills for accurate drug preparation and pharmaceutical compounding, following Standard Operating Procedures. Requires the skills to read and understand instructions, and basic math skills. Requires interpersonal skills to interact with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to obtain, verify and exchange information.
    • Ability to work with computers for data entry and manipulation
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment

Salary Range: Minimum $17.70 per hour - Maximum $28.32 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
