Position Summary:

Under general supervision, provides supportive services to patients and families. Investigates and responds to patient complaints. Provides information regarding hospital services, policies, and procedures. Provides emotional support to families in times of patient crisis.

Competencies:

A. Education:

Work requires advanced communication skills to provide support services to patients and families such as that acquired through high school education.

B. Knowledge:

Requires knowledge of general policies and procedures of patient representative program normally acquired through three to six months of experience on this job or equivalent.

Some analytical ability is required to investigate patient complaints and prepare reports.

C. Skills:

Substantial interpersonal skills needed to frequently interact with patients, families and medical staff and to comfort patients families.

D. Required Licensure,Certification, Etc.:

None

E. Work Experience

2-3 years experience in health care preferred

F. Machines, Tools, Equipment:

General office equipment, telephone

Salary Range: Minimum $17.11 per hour - Maximum $​​​​28.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
