As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. You will help to count, package, and label unit doses for inspection by a pharmacist. You will be responsible for filling routine orders for non-prescription pharmaceuticals & replenishing medicine supply carts for nursing units. You will document and update documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines, as well as communicate with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.
Minimum Education and Experience:
1. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
3. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified, or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire.
4. PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License.
5. Six months of previous hospital experience preferred.
Shift: Schedule does require rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.
Salary Range: Minimum $21.00/hour - Maximum $34.64/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
