Position Summary:

Performs complex technical analysis of trauma patient data. Assumes direct responsibility for accuracy, completeness, and data entry of information collected. In compliance with JHMI, and the State of Maryland, analyzes and interprets all available patient data to determine extensive coding classifications including ICD-O. Determines selection, evaluation and analysis of diagnosis in order to satisfy criteria for abstracting and entry into trauma data base. Directly responsible for submitting data to the State of Maryland on a concurrent basis. Performs other assigned duties as designated by the Trauma Program Manager.

Education:

  • Courses in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, ICD-9-CM coding, AIS 2005 coding,
  • Knowledge of computer software databases preferred. One or more years of college
  • or equivalent experience preferred.
  • CSTR certification preferred. (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry)

Work Experience:

Minimum of six (6) months related experience required.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
