JOB SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Reimbursement Coordinator II performs advanced billing and A/R functions for outpatient pharmacy services. Responsibilities include billing government payors, international and domestic third-party payors, patients, and Johns Hopkins programs, with a focus on accurate, timely reimbursement and resolution of billing issues.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with:
- Pharmacy billing and/or medical billing
- Claims processing and submission
- A/R follow-up
- Denials, underpayments, and payment discrepancies
- Payor research and billing issue resolution
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in pharmacy and/or medical billing required
- Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy, in the state in which work is performed, required upon hire
Core Responsibilities
- Submit claims accurately and timely
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
- Resolve billing errors, denials, partial payments, and underpayments
- Research and correct payor discrepancies
- Process refunds, credits, adjustments, and write-offs as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation in billing systems
- Work directly with payors and internal teams to resolve reimbursement issues
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of billing, collections, and reimbursement processes
- Experience working with insurance plans and third-party payors
- Familiarity with healthcare billing systems
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary Range: Minimum 18.08/hour - Maximum 31.81/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
