The Plant Operations Mechanic III Plumber will perform all necessary functions in the operation, preventive maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment in a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to plumbing systems. Demonstrate behaviors supporting Sibley Memorial Hospital's mission to deliver excellent and compassionate care every patient, every time.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of plumbing. Prefer experience in a hospital setting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally (in English) and document (in written English) all daily activities associated with the safe operation and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Knowledge of small tools and safe handling practices associated with repair and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Knowledge and ability to handle any and all emergency situations and equipment breakdown, malfunction or failure.
  • Must be able to effectively reach all maintenance equipment in case of an emergency and for day-to-day repair and maintenance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, electrical schematics, control circuits, and drawings as related to assigned areas.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
