Job Details & Qualifications:

At Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, our experienced and compassionate team provides expert pediatric care for infants, children, and teens with complex medical conditions. Ranked the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida and nationally recognized in multiple specialties, we are committed to advancing pediatric healthcare through innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

As a 259-bed teaching hospital with more than half of its beds dedicated to intensive care services, we serve as the regional pediatric referral center for Florida’s west coast, providing advanced critical care, complex surgical procedures, and innovative therapies. Through strong community partnerships, we also support neonatology and pediatric services across the region.

Recognized as a Magnet® designated hospital by the ANCC, we uphold the highest standards in nursing and patient care while fostering a culture of compassion, teamwork, and professional excellence.

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Pediatric RN Residency is dedicated to providing a 12-month foundational program for the graduate or otherwise eligible nurse to provide the support and knowledge to grow into a competent pediatric professional practitioner.

Surgical Neurosciences (7 North) is a 28-bed unit within the Hough Family Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, dedicated to treating brain disease and protecting brain health from infancy through adulthood. The multidisciplinary team includes experts in neurology, neurosurgery, rehabilitative medicine, psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, sports medicine, and developmental behavioral medicine. The Children’s Neurology & Neurosurgery Program was recognized as a Top 50 program for 2024–2025 by U.S. News & World Report.

The unit cares for infants through teenagers undergoing elective and emergency neurological and complex surgical procedures, collaborating with multiple specialty surgical teams. It also features a Level IV accredited Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, with six dedicated beds for continuous video EEG monitoring. Serving patients of all acuity levels, the typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3–4, supporting high-quality, specialized neuroscience care.

“As a new grad nurse, it can be intimidating to go from school to real-world nursing. With the residency program you are surrounded by like-minded new nurses who are going through the same thing-- it fosters a community that supports you throughout the transition from new nurse to RN resident to RN. I found that the residency classes gave you a safe place during your new journey and provided opportunities to constantly learn. The simulations and classes, such as Brain Series, that are incorporated into the program are so valuable and teach you things that you will use in your daily practice. I found that all of these helped to shape me into the nurse I am today." - Taylor D. – Cohort 36
