Accreditation Statement
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital RN Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
The Acute Care Care Float Pool is a Unit without Walls at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital! We are one of the few residency programs in the country that hires new graduate nurses directly into a Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool. With more than seven successful cohorts and high retention rates, this program offers a unique opportunity to build broad clinical experience across multiple specialty areas.
Float Pool nurses support Surgical Neurosciences within the Institute for Brain Protection Sciences (IBPS), Hematology-Oncology in the Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute, Pediatric Medicine (the largest acute care unit), and the NICU caring for Level III and IV patients. This role provides exposure to diverse patient populations—from infants to young adults—and a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, creating a strong, well-rounded foundation in pediatric acute care.
"Being part of the RN residency truly helped me embrace being "the new kid on the block". The support behind you is felt from day one and has carried on well past graduation. You will take away atleast once thing from each class and be introduced to many resources and opportunities the hospital has to offer. From there you are able to take what you need and pave the way to becoming the best nurse you can be!" - Emly K, RN Acute Care Float Team (Cohort 36)
