The Coordinator, Surgical Billing has primary responsibility for the accurate entry of all Operating Room charges for time, supplies, and services. Reviews all Operating Room, Endoscopy, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit charges. Primary responsibility for the data review and management of all surgical cases for the Main Operating Room, Endoscopy and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Coordinator, Surgical Billing serves as a member of the business operations staff in order to provide non-clinical, administrative, billing, and systems assistance.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or Healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in perioperative services or supply chain management.
  • Previous experience at advanced level supply chain management or billing office setting required.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a member of hospital committees and teams as requested.
  • Creates and maintains user training manuals for billing procedures and data entry. Assists department director/manager(s) with training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
  • Assists departmental director/manager(s) with preparation for regulatory agency visits and ensures availability of designated data in compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Works collaboratively with department director/manager(s) to resolve issues with missing or incomplete case supply cards. Notifies nurses when implant or supply documentation needs to be corrected within HSM. Maintains the incomplete documentation log and resolves documentation issues in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director Perioperative Services or the Perioperative Services Business Manager.

Salary Range: Minimum 33.12/hour - Maximum 54.63/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
