The Employee Relations Specialist Senior is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by addressing and investigating employee relations issues and concerns. This role involves managing employee relations programs, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and facilitating effective communication between Human Resources Business Partners, management and employees. The specialist will act as a key advisor to both employees and leadership on employee relations matters.
Employee Relations Management:
- Serve as consultant HRBP, Managers on employee relations policies and issues.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints, concerns, and disputes.
- Provide guidance and support to HRBP’s, managers on handling employee performance issues and disciplinary actions.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure organization’s policies comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Educate employees and management on HR policies, practices, and relevant labor laws.
Conflict Resolution:
- Partner with Human Resources Business Partners and leadership regarding recommendations for employee relations concerns.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management.
- Provide coaching and counseling to employees to resolve personal and professional issues.
- Develop and recommend strategies to improve workplace relationships and employee engagement.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance review process by providing training and guidance to managers and employees.
- Monitor and report on performance management metrics and trends.
- Consult in the recommendation for development of performance improvement plans (PIPs) for underperforming employees.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
- Support employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and retention.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with HR team members to develop strategies for talent retention and development.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in employee relations or a similar HR role.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Salary Range: Minimum 37.60/hour - Maximum 62.08/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
