Job Title: Social Worker II (LICSW), Behavioral Health
Department: Crisis Intervention
Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Social Worker to provide crisis intervention, psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, therapy, and discharge planning for patients in the Emergency and Psychiatry Departments. This role works closely with an interdisciplinary team to support timely, patient-centered care and appropriate disposition planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial and behavioral health assessments
- Provide crisis intervention and support appropriate patient disposition
- Develop and implement treatment and discharge plans
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate
- Complete documentation, progress notes, and assessments in a timely manner
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, families, and community resources
- Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of crisis intervention and high-risk psychiatric care
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
- Current LICSW, LGSW, LGPC, or LCSW licensure in the District of Columbia
- 2–5 years of psychiatric social work or counseling experience
- Experience with adult, geriatric, and crisis populations preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in emergency or acute psychiatric settings
- Knowledge of triage and crisis assessment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Salary Range: Minimum 37.58/hour - Maximum 61.99/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
