Location: Johns Hopkins Medicine, 750 E. Pratt St., 5th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Remote; onsite 1–2 days/month, plus additional days for Go-Lives, weekends, and special projects. Must be located in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania or Delaware
Overview
Lead the design, development, and evaluation of AI/ML solutions that support clinical decision-making and healthcare operations. Partner with clinicians, engineers, researchers, and IT teams to implement and assess AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop ML models for classification, risk prediction, NLP, and LLM applications.
- Translate research models into production-ready solutions integrated with Epic.
- Evaluate AI models using metrics such as F1, ROUGE, and groundedness.
- Benchmark and assess vendor AI solutions.
- Apply explainability and fairness techniques.
- Support AI pilots, rollouts, and stakeholder education.
- Present findings to clinical and technical audiences.
Required Education
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related field.
- PhD preferred.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of research, analytics, or data science experience.
- 5+ years of advanced programming experience.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare data experience (Epic Clarity, Caboodle, FHIR, OMOP).
- Azure ML, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric experience.
- NLP and LLM experience (prompt engineering, Healthcare NLP tools).
- Scala proficiency.
- Experience in regulated healthcare environments.
