CMAs hold a key role within Ambulatory Services clinics.  CMAs manage intake (including medication review), triage, and rooming of patients. They also carry out medical treatments as ordered by the provider for patients within the clinic. The CMAs also support telemedicine encounters. Lastly, they provide support to RN and provider staff during clinical emergencies. If budgeted CMA positions remain unfilled, the clinic will run short-staffed, which can compromise the patient experience, pose safety risks, and contribute to delays for patients and providers.

Shift: Full time-40 hours.  Day Shift. No weekends! 8-5:30p (Mon through Thursday)  Friday 9-1pm.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Licensure/Certification:

  • Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
  • Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network

Work Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience.
  • MA program externship for new medical assisants
