Happy Hispanic Heritage Month from Johns Hopkins Medicine
¡Bienvenidos al mes de la herencia hispana! Welcome to Hispanic Heritage Month!
The Johns Hopkins Medicine community is proud to join in the celebration from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 to honor and recognize our Hispanic/Latino faculty and staff members, students and trainees, patients and community partners.
What started as a weeklong acknowledgement in 1968 is now a month of events honoring our Hispanic/Latino colleagues whose history and culture is
rooted in one of 21 countries and areas including the United States, Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Talent Aquisition at Johns Hopkins Health System celebrates and honors it's current employees and we hope to inspire more members of the community to join us on their career path. Visit our newly updated Spanish bilingual career page and you can find our current systemwide Bilingual-Spanish positions here
To help kick off this month, join the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Health Equity and the Hopkins Familia Employee Resource Group (ERG) & Allies on Sept. 20 for the keynote event with Vincent Guilamo-Ramos, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing professor and executive director of the Institute for Policy Solutions. This will take place in a hybrid environment (in-person and via webcast) on Johns Hopkins’ East Baltimore campus in the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Feinstone Hall (615 N. Wolfe St., Rm. E2030). The keynote address will be from 2–3 p.m., followed by a reception from 3–4 p.m. Sign up to attend here
We received an overwhelming number of nominations for our Hispanic Heritage Month Achievers Awards. A huge congratulations to this year’s recipients: Jasmine Reese, professor and Dominick Rosado, environmental services technician II, both from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital; and Andrea Silvas, resident, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. We are proud of their achievements and commend them for demonstrating pride in their culture through their words and deeds.
If you are an employee you can visit the Hopkins Familia ERG & Allies Sharepoint for all things, all system here: SharePointe site for employee.
If you are looking to join this group as a future employee of Johns Hopkins Health System, please reach out to one of the Talent Aquisition group allies, Jennifer Golling at jgollin3@jh.edu.
¡Saludos!
