Bethesda, Maryland

The Trauma Physician Assistant / Trauma Surgery OR 1st Assist PA will work within our Level II Trauma Center, one of only four hospitals in Maryland given that recognition. We see approximately 1,500 trauma patients annually.

  • Responds to all trauma activations
  • First Assist in the Operating Room in Trauma and other cases as needed
  • Performs primary/secondary surveys and fast exams
  • Interprets gross CT findings for appropriate consults (Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, OMFS, and Plastic Surgery)
  • Assists with chest tube insertion and central line placement under the direct supervision of the Trauma attending
  • Performs daily rounds on Trauma patients

Hours:

  • 12 hrs Days (7a - 7:00p) , PRN

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Physician Assistant program which is accredited by the AMA
  • Minimum of 2 years Trauma OR first assist work experience
  • Active Maryland PA license and current certification by the NCCPA
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications required; ATLS recommended but not required

Salary Range: Minimum 81.51 per hour - Maximum 81.51 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
